A Dynamic Discrete Disaster Decision Simulation System

The system is a circumstance-independent laboratory for testing how the type and scale of an event, as well as situational variables and command decisions affect responders' efficiency and effectiveness in dealing with disasters.

Concept

  • Location Independent
  • Dynamic Network Construction
  • Seamless Integration of GIS, Simulation, Rule Based Architecture

Planning: Measure effectiveness of policies and procedures as well as performing optimization of routing, procedures, and resources utilizations

Training: Operationally define situational awareness while allowing users to step forward and retrace the simulation process Decision

Support: Real time emergency management support and offline research, simulation, and optimization

Funding: University of Pittsburgh Research Fund
