 The Certificate in National Preparedness and Homeland Security is an ideal choice for veterans who wish to transition their military skills and experience into a career in the emergency professions. 
 The University of Pittsburgh is one of a select group of U.S. higher education institutions voluntarily offering tuition remission and other benefits under the Yellow Ribbon Program, part of the new GI Bill administered by the Veterans Administration.   
   Military Advanced Education magazine has given the University of Pittsburgh top honors for the support services it provides veterans and for creating a military-friendly atmosphere on campus in its Annual Guide to America's Military-Friendly Colleges and Universities.
