 COSTS
Please note that the costs for tuition for the Fall 2012 term have not yet been announced. The figures below are for illustrative purposes.

Costs for the program are of three types, tuition, fees and course mateerials costs.
 
 Tuition
Students enrolled in the College of General Studies pay CGS tuition, listed below for the 2011-12 academic year.
In-state/PA Resident
Out-of-state/Non Resident
NOTES:
"Full Time" is for 12 or more credits per term. (Fall and Spring)
"In-State" refers to Pennsylvania residency
 
Students whose primary registration is in another School will pay the tuition for that school. Current tuition rates can be found at http://www.ir.pitt.edu/tuition/tuitionrates.html.
Mandatory Fees
Students are required to pay certain fees to cover administrative costs and services they receive through the University.

FINANCIAL AID
 
Eligibility for financial aid depends on a variety of factors, such as whether you are pursuing your certificate as a stand-alone credential or in conjunction with your University of Pittsburgh bachelor’s degree.  ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have completed at least 60 credits with a grade point average of 2.0. If you are not currently enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh, you must submit official transcripts from all prior institutions with the application.

Students must meet requirements for admission to a certificate program in the College of General Studies. For admission guidelines and an application, go to www.cgs.pitt.edu.
 
 DEGREE COMPLETION
Students may apply credits earned in the certificate program towards their University of Pittsburgh bachelor’s degree program, subject to their school’s regulations.

A maximum of six credits may be accepted from other institutions for elective courses. After admission, please consult your advisor for an evaluation of eligible transfer credits.
