Certificate in National Preparedness and Homeland Security
Business

There is a compelling business case for incorporating preparedness planning into the risk management strategy of any firm or enterprise.
"The vast majority of ogranizations without a business continuity plan that suffer through a disaster are out of business within two years."
     George T. Mathews
Chair, Three Rivers Contingency Planning Association

The NPHS certificate program will help current and future professionals in business and industry contribute to their organization's bottom line by providing opportunities to draft, rehearse, and implement sector-specific business continuity plans. Business continuity plans build public trust and promote rapid restoration of services after emergencies of any type.

Eighty-five percent of the “critical infrastructure” of the United States (which includes sectors such as energy, telecommunications, and transportation) is owned or operated by the private sector. The active participation of partners in business and industry is a key feature of the certificate program.
