Rick Doten has over 18 years of experience in the IT industry, the last 11 of which focus specifically on security, including building security programs and performing security assessments for the almost all corporate industries, as well as the federal government. Rick’s current role involves working with customers around the globe to understand their security practice and provide a transfer of knowledge based on his industry background and the many organizations he talks to. He also shares with clients the challenges of specific industries and what he sees in effective security programs. Rick’s role as a Trusted Security Advisor comes from his wide industry knowledge and special expertise in application security/threat modeling and wireless security. Rick has presented and paneled many national and international security conferences. Recently he developed and executed a Mock Security Incident Exercises for both the New York Metro and Silicon Valley Chapters of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), keynoted the last two annual security conferences for DaimlerChrysler, and presented about “Information Leak Prevention” to Financial Services spring ISAC conference. Rick has been quoted in numerous published security articles and has appeared on both CNN and TechTV. Rick was acknowledged as a contributor to the NIST Publication 800-48 on Wireless Security and is named on a European patent for wireless intrusion detection technology. Rick began his security career as an “Ethical Hacker” at Global Integrity. While there, his work included web application, network, security product, and firewall assessments. Rick also managed the testing of security applications for the BITS Product Certification Lab for the banking industry. Rick’s career has involved him with not only commercial and U.S. Government customers, but also international projects, including a cell phone fraud investigation in South America. Rick holds a bachelor’s degree in English and has recently held secret clearances from the Department of Justice and a Top Secret clearance from the Department of Defense with a full scope polygraph from the NSA. |
